Thigh Reduction

Thigh reduction surgery is operation of the removal of prolapsed skin fat tissue located in the thigh area.

There are several reasons of prolapse on the thighs. Excess weight gain and loss, aging and sun are the main factors. These factors cause loosening and prolapse of the fat tissue in the inner part of the thigh. In the   thigh reduction surgery, the loosening and prolapsed fat tissue in the thigh are re-stretched. In addition, wrinkles, lines caused by labour and prolapse in the abdominal region can be removed with   thigh reduction surgery. Before the operation, the  plastic surgeon tells the patient in detail how the operation will be performed and in which areas there may be incisions.

The Operation

Thigh reduction surgery is performed by removing the fat tissue prolapsed by various reasons in the thigh area with a small incision in the groin area. This operation is performed under general anesthesia if both hip lifting and  thigh reduction surgeries are to be performed. But if only thigh reduction surgery will be performed, then local anesthesia is applied. After the  thigh reduction operation, a feeling of discomfort or pain will be felt in the first days in the operation area. Antibiotic treatment is given to the patient under the supervision of a doctor against infections that may occur after the surgery. For pain complaints, painkillers are given to the patient. Walking immediately after the operation will be painful for the patient for a while. But, soon after and with the effect of painkillers, such complaints will end. Shower can be taken 48 hours after the operation. The patient should be careful not to lift heavy loads for around 2 weeks after the surgery.

Smoking should be avoided after the operation, because smoking increases the risk of postoperative complications. Sports activities can be done within 2 months after the operation.
